Entry Fees
All entry fees are included in the cost of your Marathon package.
Qualifying Times
There are no qualifying times for this event, but you MUST be at least 18 years old to compete.
Start Time
The Marathon starts at 9:15 am for non-elite runners and there will be 4 starting waves.
Cut-Off Times
You have eight hours to finish the marathon. If you’re unable to maintain this pace, but wish to continue, you’ll need to move onto the pavement for safety reasons. The TCS London Marathon team will support you to the Finish Line.
Pace Setters
There will be pacers covering the following target finish times (and times in between) at the event:
3 hours to 7 hours 30 minutes
More details about the pacers will be included in the Participant Guide, which will be emailed to participants several weeks before Event Day from TCS London Marathon.
Race Timing
Race timing in the Marathon is managed via the Real-Time-ChampionChip method. The ChampionChip is included as part of the race entry fee.
These chips must be returned by the runner immediately after crossing the finish line or within 2 hours after the event ends. They can be returned to six different locations in the finish area until 4:30 pm.
Signs marking every kilometre, as well as mile and five-mile points, are posted along the route. Large clocks displaying the current time are located every 5 km.
Race Packets
You’ll need to collect your pack from the TCS London Marathon Running Show, which takes place in London over the four days before the marathon.
If you can’t attend the TCS London Marathon Running Show, someone can collect your pack on your behalf – details of how to do this are in the Participant Guide. Please note Event Packs are not sent by post and must be collected before Marathon Day.
Bag Drop-Off Option
Participants can drop off a small bag or rucksack to have waiting for them after they cross the famous Finish Line.
This must be done before Marathon Day. More details about the 2026 bag drop service will be released soon.

PASSPORTS, VISAS & HEALTH REQUIREMENTS
It is your responsibility to ensure you have the necessary documents, and only the destinations you intend to visit can provide the most current visa requirements. Contact the nearest embassy or consulate of your travel destinations for accurate information.
Many countries and territories require your passport to be valid for at least six months. Immigration authorities may deny entry if your passport has less than six months’ validity remaining.
Ensure you are aware of any health requirements for your travel destinations. Vaccinations may be recommended for certain locations. Consult your local doctor to receive the necessary vaccinations before your departure date.
